Where an output lives, and sharing it

A grid, note, table or deck lives in a project, in the workspace, or with just you - and you choose who else sees it.

Every grid, note, table and slide deck has one home:

HomeWho can open it
A projectEveryone who can see that project, as before.
The workspaceEvery active member of the workspace.
PersonalOnly you, until you share it.

Grids and notes can also live in a chat channel, as they always could. Forms, documents, charts and the other tools keep their own rules for who can see them.

Sharing with named people

The owner of a personal output, or the creator of a workspace output (and admins who can manage members), can share it with named people, each either to view or to edit. Those people find it in Shared with you.

Moving it

Moving an output to another home, for example from a project to the whole workspace, needs edit rights in both places. It is the same object afterwards, not a copy.

A link never grants access

Linking an output to a project, a goal or a customer does not let anyone open it. Each person still needs to be able to see the output itself.

Note

The Toolbox appears only where it is switched on for your workspace. Where it is off, every tool stays where it was: project tabs, /app/forms, /app/signatures, /app/wiki and /app/documents work exactly as before.
