Top bar or side rail
Two navigation layouts for the same app, chosen per person.
The main navigation can run across the top or down the left. Both reach exactly the same places — it is a layout choice, not a feature difference — and it is yours alone, set in Settings → Appearance under Navigation.
| Mode | What it is |

| Top bar | The classic Noots layout — navigation across the top, full width for your work. This is the default. |
| Side rail | A compact icon rail down the left. Menus open beside it, and each area's accent colour runs down the edge instead of along the top. |
A call survives the switch, and every navigation
The call dock lives above the navigation in both modes, so changing modes — or moving anywhere in the app — never drops a call you're on.
How to get back to the home screen
Click the Noots logo, in either mode. That is deliberately the one route home, and it works even if you've set a different start page — see Formats, language & your start page.
On a narrow window the side rail reflows into a horizontal bar, so the layout stays usable on a phone either way.
