Turning an extension off is not hiding a button. Every action, route, webhook and cron job it owns runs through the same gate — session, organisation, permission, installed, enabled, plan-allowed — before anything happens. Disable a published board and its public URL stops answering that second.

How the system behaves.
What is an extension, exactly?+
A declared bundle of surfaces. Its manifest says what it adds and where — a whole tab on a project, a panel inside the task detail, a chip on a board card, a section in Administration, a rule that changes how the Gantt or the availability checker behaves, or a background job. The product renders extensions only through those named slots, so an extension never edits a core screen.
What is the difference between disabling and uninstalling?+
Disabling removes the extension's surfaces and stops its background jobs while keeping everything it has already written. Uninstalling removes it from the workspace. Both are enforced on the server, not by hiding a button — disable an extension that publishes a public URL and that URL stops answering immediately.
Can an extension be limited to one team?+
Yes. Extensions are scoped to the whole organisation, to a division, or to a single team, so the crews who need the field tab get it and everyone else keeps a clean workspace.
How do presets and extensions relate?+
A preset is a curated bundle. Picking an industry during onboarding queues that industry's extensions, you review the list and toggle anything you don't want, and the workspace initialises with the rest already working. The preset stays editable later from Administration, and every extension in it can also be installed on its own.
Do extensions get in the way of the base product?+
No. Every workspace starts from the same Base Template — projects, meetings, the organization directory, mail, chat and the calendar. Extensions add to it. Pick General Purpose and none are installed at all.
