What a Noot is
A Noot is a project workspace. Tasks live inside it.
A Noot is a project — a self-contained workspace with its own board, tasks, timeline, files, meetings, calendar and people. A task is one piece of work inside a Noot. Everything else in the product hangs off that distinction, so it's worth getting straight early.
Creating one
- 1Choose New Noot.
- 2Give it a name and a task key — a short prefix like
MA, which numbers its tasksMA-1,MA-2and so on. The key is derived from the name; edit it if you want. - 3Pick an icon and an accent colour (Green, Coral, Violet, Sky or Amber).
- 4Optionally add a description — what this Noot is for, its scope, who's involved.
- 5Pick a starter board: Standard (To do · In progress · In review · Done), Kanban, Sprint, Content, or one of your own saved templates.
- 6Set visibility — see below.
- 7Open Dates & milestones to set a start date, a target date and any milestones you already know about.
- 8Optionally switch on Autopilot and write it a brief. The button then reads Next rather than Create Noot, because Autopilot's setup screen follows.
Who can see it

Visibility is changed later from the eye chip in the Noot header. Anyone you explicitly invited stays invited even if you widen visibility afterwards.
Milestones you add in the creation dialog feed the header's "next milestone", the Timeline's milestone rail and the calendar straight away — they aren't just notes.
Is a Noot a task?
No. A Noot is the project; tasks live inside it. Older material sometimes said otherwise — a Noot has always been the project workspace.
Can I change the task key later?
The key is set when the Noot is created and stamps every task in it, so keep it short and recognisable — the initials of the project name usually work.
How do I delete a Noot?
From the Noot's header menu. It goes to the recoverable bin first, which an admin can restore from Org settings → Trash.
