Board, List and Backlog
Three ways to work the same tasks, and which job each one does.
Board, List and Backlog show the same tasks. They exist separately because they answer different questions.

The board toolbar
- Group — None, Team, Assignee, Label or Priority. Grouping by team puts your own team first.
- Sort — Manual (the default), Priority, Due date, Starred, Story points or Title.
- Filter — narrow to an assignee, label, status or date range.
Columns are per Noot. Rename, reorder, recolour, add or remove them from the board's own settings — the starter templates (Standard, Kanban, Sprint, Content) are just presets for that.
The Backlog is a grooming queue
Backlog shows only tasks that are still in the first column and have no due date — that is, work nobody has decided anything about yet. It ranks them by star, then priority, and puts the three grooming decisions right on the row: set a priority, give it a date, Start (which moves it to the next column).
That's why Backlog and List aren't duplicates. List is everything; Backlog is the pile that needs a decision. When Backlog is empty it means every unstarted task already has a date.
Do the views hold different tasks?
No. Board, List and Backlog read the same tasks — Backlog just filters hard to the ones nobody has triaged yet.
Why is a task missing from a view?
Usually a filter that's still applied. On Backlog it means the task has already started or already has a due date, which is the whole point of that view.
Can each Noot have its own columns?
Yes — columns are per Noot. Pick a starter board when you create it, then change the columns whenever the process changes.
