The Gantt tab
What depends on what — and why the base chart never moves your dates.
Timeline answers *how is it going?* Gantt answers *what depends on what?* Add it from the + at the end of the tab strip; it earns its place on projects with real dependencies.
- One row per dated task in schedule order, indented by chain depth like a work-breakdown structure.
- Real finish-to-start arrows drawn from prerequisite to dependent. The edges are the same "blocked by" links you set in a task's detail.
- The same milestone rail as the Timeline, and bars coloured by the same schedule-health engine — so "Delayed" means one identical thing in both tabs.
- A Dependency conflicts counter: how many tasks start before the work they depend on finishes.
Noots will tell you that a task starts before its prerequisite finishes, and leave every date exactly where you put it. Automatically shifting other people's work is something a project manager should opt into — so it lives in the Hard-Dependency Gantt extension, which ships with the Engineering & Construction preset and is installable on any workspace.
With that extension installed, an illegal drag is refused or warned, a legal move cascades downstream while preserving each task's duration, and a scheduled sweep ripples real slips with an audit row explaining every move. Dependencies themselves are on the Team plan and above.
