Tasks, assignees and effort

Owners, starring, effort, blockers and the details on a task card.

Open any task to get its full detail — description, checklists, assignees, dates, labels, comments, attachments and activity.

Assignees

  • A task can have several assignees. One of them is the primary — that's who capacity, workload, Autopilot and status check-ins key off.
  • Cards and rows show an overlapping avatar stack.
  • Every assign picker in the product is the same component, and it lists you exactly once, first, marked (you).
  • A task with assignees on two teams appears under both teams in team-grouped views, rather than being hidden from one of the teams doing it.

Effort

Effort is one control holding both the estimate and the time logged against it. Type the estimate however you like — 2h 30m, 1.5h, 90m, 2d, or a bare number (read as minutes). Underneath, a bar fills as time is logged and spells out where you are: "1h 30m of 2h · 30m left", or "· 45m over" once you pass it.

Starring, blocking and priority

  • Star a task and it pins to the head of every ordering, manual included, with an amber edge.
  • Mark blocked, or record what it's blocked by — blockers feed the Timeline and the Gantt's dependency arrows.
  • Priority is High, Medium, Low or none, and weights the Capacity view.
  • Labels are colour tags you can filter by across a board.
Tasks that came from a meeting

A task Noots created from a meeting carries a violet chip showing the real meeting type — Zoom, Teams, Meet, a recording, an upload or a call — and links back to the meeting it came from.

Tip

Deleting a task is a soft delete. It goes to the recoverable bin, which an admin can restore from Org settings → Trash.
