Capacity on the Organization tab

Committed work against available time, where each number comes from, and who sees what.

On the new Organization tab, Capacity puts committed work beside available time for the weeks ahead - by unit, by person or by program - as a chart first, in hours and FTE.

  • Available time comes from a person's set hours per week, else their stated working hours or submitted weeks, else a default working week - minus approved time off.
  • Committed work comes from allocations, else task estimates, else an estimate from each task's size. The tab says which basis each number uses, once.
  • Allocations put a person or team on a project or program for some hours or a share of the week.
  • What if moves a project's dates or an allocation and shows how the gap changes. Nothing is saved until you apply it.
  • Delivery (the former Performance) shows throughput and on-time work by team for everyone, and by person for people who manage members. It is never a ranking.
  • Workforce cost (hours times pay rate by unit and project) is shown only to people with billing oversight.
Who sees what

Unit totals are shown to every member when the unit has at least five people, so nobody's load can be read off a small team. Per-person rows, allocations and what-if need permission to manage members and the Business plan.
