Your Notebook
Private notes that are yours alone until you share one - with folders, a floating note and an AI helper.
The Notebook is where your own notes live. Only you can see them: not your colleagues, not your workspace's admins, and not a workspace export. They are in your own data export. Open it from Notebook in the account menu, from the Notebook area in the apps launcher (you can pin it to the nav like any other area), or press Alt+Shift+N anywhere to start a new note.
Writing
- New note is at the top of the Notebook, on the Notebook page and in the floating note. A new note is saved as soon as you write something in it; one you leave empty is never kept.
- Notes save as you type. Lists,
- [ ]checkboxes and links work, and a checkbox can be ticked while reading. - When you open a note the Notebook widens, so the list stays beside a roomier editor.
- Pop out keeps a note open in a small window while you move around the app. Drag it by its top bar, resize it from its corner (or use the arrow keys on either), and fold it out of the way. On a phone it is a panel at the bottom of the screen.
Folders
Make folders with + Folder, then drag a note onto one or choose Move to folder from a note's menu. Deleting a folder never deletes a note: its notes move to No folder.
Sharing a note
- Share → Attach to a project or task makes the note a note on that project (and links it to the task). Before anything is shared you are told who will be able to read it: everyone who can see that project. Its editors can change it, and it is edited in the project from then on.
- Make private again brings its current words back to your Notebook and removes it from the project. Only the person who shared it can do that.
- Share → Send in chat, or + → Attach a note in a chat, sends a card with a copy of the note as it is at that moment. The people in that conversation can open the copy; your note stays private and your later changes are never sent.
Asking AI
The sparkle button in a note offers Continue writing, Tidy up, Turn into a checklist, Extract tasks and Summarize. Nothing is sent until you press one, only that note is sent, and nothing changes until you choose what to do with the suggestion (with Undo after). Extracted tasks are only created in the project you pick when you press Create. It uses your workspace's AI credits and follows its AI settings.
