Time off: planning and approvals
The command centre for people who approve time off: priorities, upcoming absences, conflicts and the team over weeks.
If you manage members, or lead a team, you approve time off for those people. Time off then opens on the Overview: a short brief, your top priorities and the upcoming absences, with Requests, Conflicts, Timeline and Calendar beside it.
- Top priorities lists waiting requests, most urgent first. The pill (Critical, High risk, Review today, Review soon) shows every reason it was given when you hover, focus or tap it.
- Upcoming absences shows the next 30 days with a sentence about each one: no conflict, who else on the team is off, or that a team would drop under its coverage minimum.
- Open a request to decide it: Approve, Reject or Suggest another date, with a note. Pin a request to keep it open on this browser.
- Who could cover lists teammates who are not off then. Their hours appear only for people who manage members on the Business plan; everyone else sees has room this week or is stretched.
- Approve all with no coverage conflict appears only when every waiting request is free of conflicts. It asks you to confirm, lists exactly what was approved, and can be undone for an hour while nobody has changed those requests.
Other people who are off are named only when you could already see their time off. Otherwise they are counted, and only for a team of five or more.
Settings
In Administration, Time off people who manage members set the leave types (accrual, carryover, caps, notice, whether a reason or attachment is needed, a policy page), blackout dates, each team's coverage minimum, and opening balances or grants.
