How far an agent may act

Four levels for each kind of change: watch only, suggest, act then tell me, or act after I approve.

Autonomy is set per kind of change, so an agent can be trusted to log a risk on its own and still ask before moving a date.

LevelWhat happens
Watch onlyThe agent records what it noticed in its step log. Nothing is suggested or changed.
SuggestThe agent puts a suggestion in front of a person. Nothing changes until somebody applies it. This is the default for every new agent.
Act, then tell meThe agent makes the change itself and tells its sponsor. Only safe, reversible changes can run this way, and only under the agent's limits.
Act after I approveThe agent prepares the change and asks. It applies only on a yes. Silence is never a yes.

Limits

Safe changes that run on their own still stop at limits: a date moved by more than a set number of days (2 by default), more new tasks in one run than its limit (3 by default), or more posts in a day than its limit (1 by default) ask first.

Every change an agent makes is in its step log and in the project's activity trail. Changes that can be undone carry an Undo button.

Note

Agents appear only where they are switched on for your workspace. Where they are off, /app/nooties shows your Nooties exactly as before and Autopilot keeps its three old levels.
