Slides: PowerPoint and PDF files
Download a deck as a PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF file, and import a .pptx as a new deck with a report of anything that could not come across.
Download
Use More actions > Download as PowerPoint (.pptx) or Download as PDF on a deck. The file holds what you can see: a chart linked to a Grid or a chart you cannot open is written as a box saying Chart withheld, never with its numbers, and a picture you cannot open is a placeholder. Charts in a .pptx are real PowerPoint charts with the numbers as they were when you downloaded. The PDF leaves hidden slides out, as PowerPoint does.
Import a PowerPoint file
Import PowerPoint on the Slides page turns a .pptx into a new deck: text and its formatting, bullets and numbering, shapes, lines and connectors, pictures, tables, layouts, speaker notes, hidden slides, transitions and the theme's colours. When it finishes it lists everything it could not carry across, slide by slide.
- Charts made in PowerPoint arrive as a table of their numbers. Link a Grid range to chart them live.
- SmartArt, video and audio, ink drawings, equations, embedded objects and PowerPoint animations do not come across and are named in the report.
- Fonts outside the Slides font list show in the theme font, and the report names them.
- Sections are not imported; the slides keep their order.
- Largest file
- 50 MB
- Slides
- up to 300; a longer file is refused, never cut short
- Pictures
- PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP, up to 40 megapixels each
Old .ppt files need to be saved as .pptx in PowerPoint first. A password-protected file cannot be imported.
