Slides: drafting a deck with AI
Draft a deck from your own words, a file, a note, a meeting, an overview or an agent's findings. You check an outline first; the slides are built from it on the deck's theme.
On the Slides home press Draft a deck, or in an open deck press Home > Draft with AI to add slides to it. Pick what to draft from, add a line to steer it if you like, and press Draft the outline.
The outline comes first
- The outline is a deck title and a list of slides, each with a title, a few points and a layout. Edit any of it, reorder or remove slides, or add your own.
- Nothing is created until you press Create deck (or Add these slides). Closing the dialog leaves nothing behind.
- The slides are then built from the outline on the deck's layouts and theme. The AI never places or colours anything on a slide.
- When AI is not available, or the allowance is used up, the outline is built from the source's own headings and the dialog says why.
What a draft may use
- Only what you can open yourself: a meeting, file or note you can see, and the Finances, Strategy and Organization overviews as they look to you. Money appears only if you can view finances, and projects you cannot see are left out.
- A number in the outline must already be in the source. A point carrying a figure that is not there is dropped.
- A deck for a project or the whole workspace is drafted for the people who will read it: only sources every one of them can open. Overviews and an agent's findings are what you can see, so they are drafted into a personal deck. Share it once you have checked it.
Rewrite, notes and design ideas
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Rewrite | Rewrites or shortens the text on the current slide. Undo puts the old text back. |
| Notes | Writes speaker notes for the current slide from what is on it. |
| Design ideas | Suggests up to three layouts that fit what is on the slide, worked out from its text, pictures, charts and tables. Pick one to apply it. |
Ask Hoot
Ask Hoot to make a deck (for example "make a deck on where the launch stands"). Hoot reads your workspace and shows an outline card; nothing is created until you press Create deck on it.
Agents
An agent you sponsor can draft a deck for you, such as a weekly time-off summary. It lands in your drafts and in your own decks as a personal deck; nobody else sees it until you share it.
Each draft, rewrite or notes request uses AI credit from the Slides allowance your admin can cap. An outline you have drafted before, from the same source as you see it, is reused rather than drafted again.
