A Table is a declarative spec: groups, typed columns, rows. Every reader normalises it through one front door, so a stored table from an earlier build still draws.

7 column kinds

Text, status, person, date, timeline, number and link. A status column carries its own coloured options; a person cell suggests project people, workspace people and, where the CRM is installed, its contacts.

Edits you can see land

Every change is written as a whole table and repainted from what the server actually kept, so a clamped value or a dropped cell is visible rather than imagined.

Rollups per group

Sum, count or range on a column, computed per coloured group band, so a table of three phases shows three subtotals without a formula.

Ask Hoot for a table of the project's open work by owner and it authors a real Table on the tab, from rows you can already see.

Views that never delete a table

A view is a tab of stacked tables, and a new table appends below the last. Deleting a view moves its tables back to the Main view rather than destroying them.

How it connects

A Table is the tracker; the rest of the workspace fills it.

Grids

When the numbers need formulas, worksheets and charts off a range, that is a Grid. A Table is for rows with a status and an owner.

Questions

The ones people ask first.

How is a Table different from a Grid?
A Table is a tracker: coloured groups, typed columns, a rollup per group. A Grid is a spreadsheet: formulas, worksheets, charts off a range. Use a Table for rows with an owner and a status, a Grid when the numbers depend on each other.
What happens to my tables when I delete a view?
They move back to the Main view. A view delete never deletes a table.
Can I take a Table out of Noots?
Yes. Export it to Excel from its own menu. The file is written by Noots from the stored cells.
