A Slack alternative
for a small business.
Most teams do not want a second chat app. They want the conversation to sit next to the work it is about, so a decision made in a channel does not have to be retyped into a board. Noots puts channels, direct messages and calls in the same workspace as the projects, meetings, calendar and CRM.
What each one publishes.
Their number is read from their own pricing page, at the tier they badge, on the date printed beside it. Ours is read from the plan table this product enforces.
Slack Business+
$15
a seat a month, billed annually
The annual list rate. Slack's 3-month promotion applies to monthly plans only.
US list price, read from Slack's own pricing page on 28 August 2026. We price the tier that vendor badges, not the dearest one.
Team
$9
a seat a month, billed annually
Every figure on this card is read from the plan table the product itself enforces, so it cannot disagree with what you are charged. The full matrix is on the pricing page.
These two figures buy different things and this page does not pretend they are the same basket. What Noots includes at that price is listed below, each line with the tier it unlocks at. We publish no claim about what Slack does or does not do, because we hold a dated reading of what they charge and not of what they build.
Every line is a surface that ships.
The tier beside each one is read from the plan table at render time, so a capability that moves tier moves on this page in the same change.
Channels, direct messages and calls
FreeA channel per project, direct messages, group messages and calls that survive navigating anywhere in the app. Private channels are on every plan.
The conversation sits beside the work
FreeA message can reference a task, a project or a meeting, and the board it names is one click away in the same tab. Nothing is synced between two products, because there is only one.
Channel notes
TeamA shared note attached to the channel, for the thing a team keeps re-pasting.
The meeting reaches the board
FreeA recorded call becomes a summary, a decision list and action items, and those action items become tasks on the project board rather than a paragraph somebody has to read.
Free for ten people
FreeTen members and ten projects on the free tier, with no card. Chat, boards, recording and the calendar are all on it.
What Noots does not do.
The counterweight, at full length and not behind a disclosure. If one of these is a deal breaker, it is cheaper for both of us that you read it here.
- Video calls start on the Team tier. The free tier has chat and audio, not video.
- Noots has an extension catalogue rather than a third-party app directory. If your team lives inside a marketplace app, check that it is one of ours before you move.
- Chat here is part of a workspace, not a standalone chat product. If all you want is chat, this is more software than you need.
- Guest access, for people outside your organisation, starts on the Team tier.
- Calls between two different organisations start on the Business tier.
Before you switch.
