An Otter.ai alternative
with a consent record.
Recording a meeting is a decision somebody has to be able to account for later. Noots keeps a per-meeting record of how the people in the room were told, stored beside the meeting itself, and refuses to dress up the meetings where nothing told them.
What each one publishes.
Their number is read from their own pricing page, at the tier they badge, on the date printed beside it. Ours is read from the plan table this product enforces.

Billed annually. Otter's own monthly rate for the same plan is $30 a seat.

Every figure on this card is read from the plan table the product itself enforces, so it cannot disagree with what you are charged. The full matrix is on the pricing page.
These two figures buy different things and this page does not pretend they are the same basket. What Noots includes at that price is listed below, each line with the tier it unlocks at. We publish no claim about what Otter.ai does or does not do, because we hold a dated reading of what they charge and not of what they build.
Every line is a surface that ships.
The tier beside each one is read from the plan table at render time, so a capability that moves tier moves on this page in the same change.
A record on the meeting itself
FreeFour fields beside every meeting: how the room was told, when that was stamped, who stamped it and any note. It is written by the server at capture time and no browser can post one.
A banner everybody in the room can see
FreeOn calls held inside Noots, everyone sees a notice for as long as the bot is present. It says the call is being recorded and where the audio goes, and it cannot be dismissed.
Blank means blank
FreeThe record has three states, not two. Where nothing told the room, the meeting shows nothing rather than a reassuring tick, because a missing record is not evidence of anything.
Destroy it on a clock you set
BusinessAn organisation or a single project can set a window after which a meeting's transcript, live notes and stored media are destroyed. The meeting then says it was destroyed and when.
We do not claim your recording is lawful
FreeNoots records what the product did. It does not know your jurisdiction and never says a recording complies with anything. That refusal is enforced by an automated test that sweeps our own source for the words.
Conversation figures with no score and no manager view
BusinessShared facts about a call go to everybody who was in it. The figures that read as a judgement about one person are shown to that person alone, beside an anonymous average of everybody else, and only once enough other people spoke for an average to mean anything. There is no composite number for a person, no ranking, no leaderboard and no screen that lists colleagues against each other. And somebody who would rather not read figures about themselves switches their own off from the panel they appear on.
What Noots does not do.
The counterweight, at full length and not behind a disclosure. If one of these is a deal breaker, it is cheaper for both of us that you read it here.
- Noots does not obtain consent. It records what the product told people, which is not the same thing and is never described as if it were.
- On Zoom, Meet and Teams the bot joins under a visible participant name and sends no message. Whether the platform also shows its own recording indicator is the platform's behaviour, not ours.
- Captures through the browser extension and file uploads leave the record blank, because no screen in the product currently asks the question.
- The record is shown on the meeting page. It is not in an export or a report yet, so it is not something you can hand an auditor as a document today.
- Retention is off unless you configure it. The default keeps everything.
Before you switch.
